Replace Glass Block Basement Window

Glass block windows are a common feature in basements, but they can be outdated and inefficient. Replacing them with new windows can improve the look of your basement and make it more comfortable and energy-efficient.

Before You Start

Before you start replacing your glass block windows, there are a few things you need to do:

Removing the Old Windows

Cut the glass blocks. Use a glass cutter to score the glass blocks around the perimeter of the window. Then, use a hammer to tap the glass blocks until they break apart.
Remove the old window frame. Once the glass blocks have been removed, you can use a crowbar to pry the old window frame out of the opening.

Installing the New Windows

Once the old windows have been removed, you can begin installing the new windows. To do this, follow these steps:

Install the new window frames. Place the new window frames in the openings and secure them with screws.
